We are proud to count Meg as one of our friends and through getting to know her, we have come to believe her to be one of the more beautiful human beings on the planet.

Why combine a Mediterranean Diet and a Macrobiotic Diet?
After many years of research we strongly believe that the combination of macrobiotic diet principles with varied, traditional diets such as the Mediterranean Diet can be the key to achieving long-lasting, healthful and enjoyable diet change. Macro-Mediterranean is a term we use to describe our integrative approach to nutrition counseling.

Macrobiotics, in and of itself, sometimes has a reputation of being a restrictive diet and can also be a stretch for some western palates. This is why the approach we have developed is based upon parallels between macrobiotics, credible studies in nutritional science and what is known about traditional patterns of eating.

By using this multi-faceted approach to the challenge of helping people to transition to more healthful ways of eating, we are able to offer more variety and moderation than any one of these single approaches would allow, and so have had great success at keeping our tools and recommendations practical and approachable.

Between January 21 and February 17, 2009 participants in Macro-Mediterranean meal delivery agreed to be formally studied in a doctor overseen study to help us clearly establish some of the benefits of eating Macro-Mediterranean. This study was called The Macro-Mediterranean "Yes You Can" Study and was overseen by Dr. Kathryn Hayward. To learn more about the study results and the benefits of eating Macro-Mediterranean, please go here and also watch our video testimonials to hear results directly from the participants.

George is a Type II diabetic and he also was surprised to find that from day 1 his blood glucose levels were not only consistently well inside doctor recommended safety zones (a new experience for him), but were lower than he has ever seen during his 12 years of trying to use diet change to help control his diabetes. NEW: See George's timeline of improvement, click here!

Debra started the Macro-Mediterranean "Yes You Can" Study having a history of serious depression. She also has Type II Diabetes. In this short video she describes how her first 10 days participating in the study provided health improvements and gave her a new outlook for the future.

In January of 2007 Maria Mellano was suffering from fatigue, shortness of breath, anemia and high-fever. In the hospital it became evident that something serious was going on as the medical staff realized she was hemorrhaging into her lungs and kidneys. She was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease.

In this video you will hear her tell her own story of how through a healing diet and a Macro-Mediterranean approach to eating she has, in a short time, regained more health and vitality than her doctors thought possible.

Since beginning my learning with you I feel like I have become a part of a community of people seeking positive change in their lives. For the first time I am actually enjoying the process of changing my nutritional intake. (I do not want to call this a diet, as I feel like it is a lifestyle change).

The best part of working with you is that you do not expect perfection and do not advocate restriction. Instead you have assisted me and encouraged me to make slow changes. You have provided me with knowledge as to what certain foods do to my body and why eating them or limiting them are beneficial. This way I can make an educated decision.
