Our Menu and Ingredients
For each delivery we prepare the dishes in only one of the rows in our menu. This means each week we prepare 8 different main dishes to choose from and one dessert, plus our regular assortment of side dishes. Below the pictures you will find an agenda showing the upcoming menus and their dates for ship-out/delivery.
MAXIMIZING MEAL QUALITY:
When you receive your delivery take a quick look at the worksheet and find the row for the delivered menu. The dishes underlined on the worksheet we consider to freeze best, so give them preference if you plan to freeze any of the meals. We recommend eating fresh meals by dinner on the Monday following delivery for maximum quality.
Main Dishes
Dishes containing raw cucumbers should be eaten first to ensure freshness.
Dishes containing broccoli or kale if kept in the refrigerator should be eaten by dinner the Saturday following delivery.
Side Dishes
Side soups and side vegetables may all be frozen if necessary. We would recommend eating any side vegetables kept in the refrigerator that contain cucumbers, kale or broccoli, (or at least the cucumber, kale or broccoli portion of the containers), by dinner the Saturday following your delivery. Please note we are a fresh meal delivery service, however only our side soups are often frozen for transport as this does not affect their quality, improves overall refrigeration of shipments, reduces additional ice requirements lowering shipping costs and reduces the risk of leaks. Side soups that arrive wholly or partially frozen may be kept in the refrigerator until thawed or thawed during the re-heating process.
Desserts
We do not recommend freezing any desserts that are, or contain puddings as freezing changes their consistency.
Many of our clients do not freeze our meals and report keeping the food for much longer than we recommend in these guidelines. These guidelines should at least allow you to design an optimal eating order, especially during the summer where some dishes have more delicate ingredients. If you are concerned with food freshness over the course of the week, please follow the guidelines for Maximizing Meal Quality and maintain your food at a properly refrigerated temperature from arrival to just before consumption.
