The China Study: T. Colin Campbell. An important study of the consumption of animal protein in traditional societies and the role that it plays in promoting degenerative diseases like heart disease and certain cancers. This book is highly recommended to those just beginning on their journey toward healthier eating and would like to hear a scientist's opinion on the feasibility and benefits of shifting away from animal products as a main source of protein.

Becoming Whole: Meg Wolff. An amazing account of her struggle with bone cancer, breast cancer and ulcerative colitis and how she credits her adoption of a macrobiotic diet with saving her life. Since her complete recovery from all her illnesses, Meg has made it her mission to increase the world's awareness of the important role diet can play in the prevention of and healing from many of the diseases that make headlines every day.
